OFFICIALLY HONORED & ENDORSED BY
THE CITY OF CLEVELAND!
Cleveland musicians Jim Tigue and Eric 'Eroc' Sosinski have
been honored with
an official "Resolution of Congratulations" passed
by the Cleveland City Council
recognizing their musical accomplishments
on the 25th Anniversary of their creative and business partnership.
The Resolution was presented and read by Council President Martin
J. Sweeney,
unanimously approved, and presented to Jim & Eroc at HOB
on May 13, 2011.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, this council is extremely pleased to recognize the
accomplishments of JIM TIGUE AND ERIC “EROC” SOSINSKI
on the 25th anniversary of their musical collaboration and business
partnership. Jim & Eroc have forged over 25 years of musical
creativity and have played over 2,000 gigs together, both as
an acoustic duo and as founding members of popular Cleveland-based
Midwest American bands, including the internationally recognized
Pink Floyd tribute band WISH YOU WERE HERE.
WHEREAS, as students of Saint Edward High School Class of 1983,
guitarist/vocalist Jim Tigue and bassist/vocalist Eric Sosinski
first performed together in 1979 at school masses and a teacher-supervised
wedding reception. Their paths diverged until the summer of
1986, when Jim invited Eric to audition for his classic rock
band HARVEST. By the end of the year, Eroc - as he became known
to the band and their followers - was officially recognized
as a member of HARVEST.
WHEREAS, in 1988 the band debuted the “HARVEST PINK FLOYD
REVUE”, an exclusive set of Pink Floyd that followed the
band’s 1st set of covers and originals. Accompanied by
basic theatrics, sound effects and a light show, Jim & Eroc
created one of the very first bands in America to tribute Pink
Floyd.
WHEREAS, by 1990 HARVEST played full-time, touring throughout
the Midwest & Eastern states at clubs, colleges, and festivals
until the mid-90’s. During that time, Jim & Eroc also
formed 2 side-projects, TIE-DYE and the JIM & EROC ACOUSTIC
DUO, to play more often in the Cleveland area. Combining both
band names as TIE-DYE HARVEST, they released two CD’s
of original music under that moniker, with songs such as “By
The Waterside” receiving regional radio airplay.
WHEREAS, in 1995 Jim Tigue & Eroc Sosinski decided to tribute
Pink Floyd exclusively and created WISH YOU WERE HERE, incorporating
a more theatrical focus with key personnel additions. The band
was an immediate success, consistently selling out and setting
attendance records at venues throughout Ohio. The following
year, Jim & Eroc also created SUGAR MAGNOLIA, one of the
first Midwestern-touring Grateful Dead tribute bands, thereby
solidyfing their role in the forefront of the American Tribute
Band movement.
WHEREAS, in 2001 Jim retired from the band to spend more time
raising a family, while Eroc’s persistent drive and development
of WISH YOU WERE HERE led to the band being chosen by Clear
Channel Entertainment to headline the national 2002 FAKEFEST
Tour, which played to thousands of fans at outdoor venues in
major markets across the Midwest. In Northeast Ohio, with Jim
returning in a supporting role, the band continues to be one
of the highest-drawing of all local bands, headlining many of
Cleveland’s top venues including Blossom Music Center,
Nautica Pavilion, and Tower City Amphitheatre, as well as their
successful ongoing residency at the House Of Blues.
WHEREAS, In 2011 Jim & Eroc continue to entertain full-time,
primarily performing their ACOUSTIC DUO around Northeast Ohio,
in a Trio as the COLIN DUSSAULT ACOUSTIC PROJECT, in band formation
as THE CLEVELAND CLASSIC ROCK ALL-STARS and occasional reunions
of SUGAR MAGNOLIA and TIE-DYE HARVEST. Jim & Eroc have a
proud history of donating their talents at benefits to support
their fellow local musicians in need, and for charities such
as Feed-A-Family, Coats For Kids, and The Salvation Army.
WHEREAS, Eroc’s position as bassist for MICHAEL STANLEY
since 1993 as well as Stanley's side project MIDLIFE CHRYSLERS,
and Jim’s award-winning children’s projects, solo
gigs and performing with his wife Marysa as THE MIGHTY TIGUES
confirms the duo’s timeless ability to entertain, and
reinforces their reputation as twoof Cleveland’s hardest-working
musicians, performing close to 250 gigs a year.
BE IT RESOLVED, that Cleveland City Council
proudly acknowledges the creative musical accomplishments of
Jim Tigue and Eric Sosinski. This Council applauds the duo’s
25-year history of artistic partnership that has entertained
the citizens of Cleveland and this country, and further extends
best wishes to them for much continued success in the future.
